Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a small selection of questions that our dedicated Wedding Team often answer.

Where can clients get married abroad?
I can arrange weddings in more than 30 exotic countries around the world.

How much will it cost?
The average cost of a  Bride and Groom wedding overseas, including an exotic honeymoon, is less than €15000 and our Weddings Team will oversee all the arrangements. Some  Bride and Groom weddings abroad are even free when you book your honeymoon at the location!

Our All Inclusive Weddings in Ireland have been exclusively designed with two types of couples in mind; Irish couples looking for stress free wedding planning and for couples from abroad wishing to have a mystical, romantic, Irish wedding. Some of our weddings in Ireland cater for 100+ guests at 4 star venues and still come in at less than €10,000 euro including all the essential services such as photographer, flowers, cake, music, celebrant, etc. All the service providers we use are professional and are carefully selected because of the great service they offer. Obviously, if you have fewer guests the cost is less! Also if you do not require all the services in the all inclusive weddings in Ireland packages there will be a discount.

Who arranges the wedding?
Bride and Groom is managed by a professional wedding planning team experience in weddings in Ireland and weddings Abroad. During your wedding planning you will have a point of contact who will assist you with your wedding plans. I work with established wedding co-ordinators around the world, so no matter where you choose to get married, you will have a wedding co-ordinator to meet you when you arrive and assist you.

Is the marriage legally recognised in Ireland?
Yes, the wedding will be registered in the country it takes place and is then legally recognised in Ireland and you do not need to register your marriage or do any further paperwork when you return. If you don’t live permanently in Ireland, check with your local authorities, but generally once you abide by the legal marriage requirements of the country you marry in, it is recognised else where.

What legal requirements are there?
The legal requirements vary from country to country, but in general the couple must be over 18 years of age. You will need a valid passport (sometimes a 10 year passport is required), original copies of Birth Certificates and documentation regarding a previous marriage if you are widowed or divorced. Full details will be supplied at the time of booking.

For Catholic weddings you will need your baptismal certificate, confirmation certificate and a letter from your parish priest.

For weddings in Ireland, you will need to submit your paperwork at least 3 months in advance to the registrar and meet with the registrar to finalise paperwork at least 5 days before the ceremony.

Can the wedding date be changed after booking?
Yes, simply let us know and we will try to change the date. If we are able to, there is a small charge for each wedding date change to cover administration costs.

Cancelling or changing the holiday, cancellation or amendment charges will apply.

Can we invite guests to the wedding?
Yes. Simply let us know how many guests and we can book their holidays. Your clients may also want extras such as more wine, a larger wedding cake or perhaps extra buttonholes. If the wedding couple is staying at an All Inclusive resort, guests staying at other hotels may need to buy a one-day pass to attend the ceremony. Numbers and age restrictions may apply. If guests cancel, cancellation charges may apply.

How do we transport their wedding outfits on the flights?
I recommend wedding outfits should be packed in a suitcase and they will be placed in the hold of the aircraft. You may wish to contact their airline for more information. Generally, there is a extra baggage allowance for wedding outfits. Some destinations, such as Thailand, Italy and Malta, may require appropriate attire.

When can they be married?
In most destinations, a wedding ceremony can be conducted Monday to Friday, excluding local holidays. In Las Vegas, you can marry 365 days a year.
My clients can  tell friends and family the wedding date?
Yes. Just bear in mind that this could change in unusual circumstances, for example if the Celebrant has to change schedule, adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Please be aware of this if guests are attending or if gifts, stationary and jewellery show the wedding date.

Where will the wedding take place?
Generally, the ceremony will take place in the gardens, wedding room or beach of a hotel, where you are staying. The hotel wedding coordinator will show you the locations to choose from. You can often have photos taken on the beach or a beauty spot after the ceremony. If the wedding is booked to take place in a public area, this will be re-confirmed while they are on holiday, subject to local regulations.

For Catholic Church weddings, a church in the area will be selected on the basis that non residents are permitted to get married there, availability of an English speaking priest and proximity to your reception venue. It is usually possible to bring your own priest should you wish to do so, but it is at the discretion of the parish priest of the church involved.

How can they book optional extras?
When they have booked their wedding we will send out a questionnaire and an optional extras price guide. Prices for extras will vary from venue to venue and are for guidance only.

What is included in the wedding?
Wedding prices are per couple, per wedding, and will be confirmed at the time of booking. Free weddings may not always include the same items as paid weddings and are not usually combined with hotel special offers unless specified. All items included in the wedding will be confirmed at the time of booking.

Who will conduct the ceremony?
The majority of weddings are conducted by a marriage officer whose title varies depending upon resort, for example a Celebrant, Minister or Registrar. Where it is possible to be married by a Minister, the ceremony will be non-denominational unless otherwise stated.
